BRTA is the brand of Basque technology and is the coordinating agent of the alliance between the 16 research centres in the Basque Country and represents 3,500 researchers. One of the observatory’s key lines of work is generating and managing knowledge, and subsequently transfer this to the Basque industrial fabric. The software used in this process is of utmost importance for the observatory. Information is captured from different sources which is then combined with its own analytical contributions to enrich the knowledge and to put it into the specific context for the client industry. Among other aspects, competitor monitoring is key to address the specialisation strategy to be applied in the future.
