Frequently asked questions

# Can we combine the platform and the service?

**Short answer**

Yes. A mixed model combines the Innguma platform, operated by your team, with Innguma Service, operated by Innguma's analysts, on the same environment and the same Library. The work can be split by area, by topic or by phase, and the history is not fragmented between providers or tools. It is the principle of ‘do it with your team or with ours’ applied at the same time.

## When does a mixed model make sense?

- **To get started:** the service sets up the watch, and the craft is transferred gradually to your own team.
- **To reinforce:** Innguma’s analysts cover areas where capacity or specialisation is lacking, for example patents in a new technical domain.
- **For one-off topics:** a watch on a technology or a market that does not yet justify dedicating someone on a permanent basis.
- **To split by sensitivity:** your own team runs the most strategic or confidential work, and the service the broader work.

## On what criteria is the work split?

The useful question is not which area goes on which side, but what each watch requires. Four criteria usually decide it:

| Criterion | Leans towards your own team | Leans towards Innguma Service |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Sensitivity | Watches tied to confidential projects or corporate transactions | Broad tracking of a market, sector or regulation |
| Tacit knowledge | When assessing a signal requires knowing internal customers, products or plans | When the relevance criterion can be written down and agreed |
| Weekly capacity | Someone has time reserved to review signals | Nobody can guarantee that review on a stable basis |
| Novelty of the topic | A consolidated topic the team already masters | A new topic where method and sources are needed from scratch |

## What is shared in a mixed model?

Everything happens in the same environment. Factory, the space where Innguma processes and structures signals, is where they are captured, filtered, classified with AI, reviewed and validated, whoever operates each watch. The Library keeps what has been validated with its tags, comments and source, and newsletters are sent from it. Thus a signal validated by the service and one validated by your team sit in the same history and are consulted in the same way.

## How do you stop the history becoming heterogeneous?

The risk of a mixed model is that each part tags and validates with different criteria. UNE 166006 provides a framework for the relationship with external providers: its 2018 edition grouped the requirements on outsourcing into a single section[\[1\]](https://www.innguma.com/en/resources/faq/mixed-model/#ref-1), and AENOR notes that certification clarifies the relationship between those who provide the watch, whether internal or external, and their clients within the organisation[\[2\]](https://www.innguma.com/en/resources/faq/mixed-model/#ref-2). In practice:

1. Put in writing who operates each watch and who its recipient is.
2. Agree on a single taxonomy of tags and common validation criteria.
3. Appoint a person in your organisation who sets priorities and arbitrates the split.
4. Review the split when priorities or the team’s capacity change.

## What is transferred when your own team takes over a watch?

If a watch moves from the service to your own team, the handover should include more than access: the logic of the filters and what each one leaves out, the sources discarded and why, the criteria with which things have been validated so far, and the business questions it answers. The history is already in the Library; what needs to be passed on is the judgement.

## What guarantees does the method have?

Innguma’s technology watch and intelligence system is certified under UNE 166006:2018, the UNE standard for R&D+i management applied to watch and intelligence[\[3\]](https://www.innguma.com/en/resources/faq/mixed-model/#ref-3) (certificate 34/5705/25/01139, OCA Global, valid until January 2028)[\[4\]](https://www.innguma.com/en/resources/faq/mixed-model/#ref-4). The systems that support the managed watch services are certified under Spain’s National Security Framework (ENS) at MEDIUM level (certificate 34/5704/24/05039, valid until June 2028)[\[5\]](https://www.innguma.com/en/resources/faq/mixed-model/#ref-5).
